Original Sessions started out as a traveling NYC/NJ film and music series back in the 90's. From 2002-03 Its home base of operations was located in the heart of Times Square in the space currently known as the world famous "Laugh Factory" in NYC.

In NJ OriginalSessions held its residency in Hoboken @ a little club known as LoveSexy. OriginalSessions has had world renown artist such as: TV On The Radio (OriginalSessions Party @ The Red Warehouse AKA The Green Door 24th Street NYC), Death In Vegas (CMJ/Filter Magazine party LeClub/ShowWorld NYC), Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys (CMJ show @ LoveSexy), ILL Nino (CMJ show @ LoveSexy), DJ Disciple (LoveSexy NJ), Erick Morrillo (NJ @ LiveTonight/Ghetto Club) Radio 4 (DJ Set) hit the stage and decks.

OriginalSessions has also been lucky enough to provide grass roots promotions and screen world renown films (prior to release to the general public) such as: "Amores Perros" by Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu (Babel, 21 Grams, Amores Perros) and "Y Tu Mama Tambiem" by Alfonso Cuaron.

Our goal is to provide an outlet and fair environment for the brightest emerging talent. An outlet for them to take their careers into their own hands and to provide warm welcoming venues where they can showcase their talents. In addition and at same time we are providing such outlet for emerging talent, we provide grass roots promotional campaigns for established artist that are in preparations for CD or film release.

OriginalSessions showcases film screenings, indie film theatrical releases, live original music, painting, sculpture, photography, performance art, burlesque, stage readings and theatrical productions. Our goal is to provide an outlet and fair environment for the brightest emerging talent. An outlet for them to take their careers into their own hands and to provide warm welcoming venues where they can showcase their talents. When we began, we established venues in 2 states. NYC and NJ. Today we've branched out to over 10 territories nationwide and will soon go international.

OriginalSessions Art House is now located @ John Street Grill 17 John Street, NYC (Between Broadway & Nassau) Back line: Venue provides 1 guitar combo amp, 1 bass combo amp, drums. Drummer must bring: Throne, kick pedal, snare and stand, cymbals and stands, high-hat and stand.

All bands, all styles are invited to participate and to be eligible for major
prizes such as

* $50,000. production value professionally produced Music Video
* 1 song featured in indie film with national distribution
* SXSW Showcase 2009
* National band status & gig swaps with bands from other territories
* 1,000 manufactured CDs
* Co-branded merchandise
* National promotion in  OriginalSessions CD compilation
* Photo spread & feature story on FMFB quarterly  & other media outlets.
* The winner of the annual competition will also be presented with a
production deal from Vinvarg recordings.

There will be 14 finalists at the end of the Fourth Quarter, + one of which will be chosen as the winner and presented with a Full sponsorship.

This is how it works:
Bands will be chosen based on artistic merit, how tight the band sounds, originality, positive attitude and draw. In addition bands with the most songs that have hit single appeal will be the main chosen band. On a given night selected bands will play a show at a participating club in their territory.

There will be 1-3 reps on hand per show, hanging out, very low-key, checking out the
bands. Good, tight and well-polished musicianship speaks for itself. The most polished bands will be invited back to play a second, third and final show.

The final selection process is a multi-step process in which artists are very carefully evaluated to make sure they have the potential to be in this business for the long term.

Bands will be paid for all shows based on their draw. All patrons entering the club will be asked at door which band they are there in support of. It is in a band's favor if in addition to sounding great, they have a decent following.

Remember, for better or worse, the ever changing music industry is based on moving units and that is what record companies, publishers and all the online giants look for. There will be a head count to make sure how many patrons each band draws. The first ten people that pay cover in support of said band goes to the club. The second ten people that pay cover in support of said band goes to that band 100%. Any patrons thereafter will be split 60/40 split in the band's favor. Bands must be based within reasonable distance of the city where their show will take place unless there are special circumstances and arrangements are made. If we are not able to book your show due to schedual or tour conflicts but you come highly recommended and we are truly feeling you, we will make sure our scouts catch your show.

Please note: Some territories are more popular than others. We will be making our way into the territory your band is based out of, so be patient and you will be contacted as soon we are holding the search in your area.

The entertainment industry is a very harsh and cold place where it is dog eat dog. We want to make a change and do things differently. We want to create an environment where there are no free rides and you will not be taken advantage of by unscrupulous types (You know who you are mofos). Unlike the irrational brutes that are prevalent in the entertainment industry, we believe that if you work hard to perfect your craft and learn the business aspect of the industry you can make your dreams come true. Yes, we are changing the game by creating a fair and welcoming environment.

This is how it works...

If you are an emerging filmmaker, musician, fashion designer, thespian or model and like our approach and will like to be part of our self created and self sustained artistic community join the coalition by going to www.fmfb.net and submit your material.

FMFB is one of our sponsors and it is founded by our friends and confidants. You will then be invited to showcase in one of our venues. Once we establish you as a talent with a strong fan base in a particular state, we will then team you up with other talent in other states to broaden your fan base in other regions. We will then come up with a strategy to maximize the attendance of fans and industry decision makers for the day of your showcase as part of the fmfb festival. It all comes down to talent and numbers.

The more fans you have the more seats or units you are able to sell. We feel this is a simple approach of hard work and collecting the fruits of your labor. Remember it is all up to you. No bullshit no lies all straight up smart business. As far as the annual FMFB festival goes we will give preference to coalition members with a clean track record of hard work. We will not abide by or waste our time with immaturity, egomaniacs, and those who want a free ride. The time is now, take your career into your own hands work hard and make your dreams a reality.
